Stefano Bartolini responds

1) What were the reasons for choosing this breed?

The story of the breeding of Casa Bartolini was born about twenty years ago when after the birth of my son, with my wife, we decided to take a puppy, my choice was oriented on the Boxer for two reasons, the first purely aesthetic and the second because it was said that this breed was ideal for a small child.

2) Did you document before the first purchase or simply follow your histinto?

Of course, perfectionist as I am, I have extensively documented myself on the various kennels, and I have discovered with great pleasure that the best breeding of those years was only a few km away from my home, I refer to the breeding of the David of Prof. Raffaello Mariotti, appreciated national and international judge, but above all great connoisseur of this 26th and complicated race.

3) With which subjects did you begin?

My first Boxer was a female tiger named Brenda del David, thanks to her, her 26th character, her priceless love and her unlimited loyalty, this race has entered me into the veins and blood to such an extent, that my friends and collaborators often feel they see similarities between me and my dogs. With the help of Professor Mariatti, Brenda is paired three times and the puppies are born under the David's frieze, in these years I try to absorb as much as possible of the professionalism and experience of this great character of Italian boxerism.
From one of the three litters of Brenda, I decide to keep a beautiful female named David Liz, so begins my adventure as a breeder, I start to get passionate about the study of blood lines and my daily thought is to find the right stallion for my two females.
In a few years I get the "Casa Bartolini" and I start to do it seriously, producing more and more interesting subjects and attending the exhibitions as a young breeder.
The national and international success comes with the birth of a 26th litter from which Marving and Michel emerge, whom I love to define my "Gemelli da Podio" thanks to these two excellent subjects, I literally start to turn Europe, treading the ring of the most prestigious demonstrations, gradually I know all the great breeders of the moment but above all I begin to understand and hate the cynopolitics, I understand that nobody is really your friend but that everyone can be enemies, I become aware of the fact that, I can rely only on myself and my hystynth.
The instinct was undoubtedly the best friend and advisor and guided me when a well-known breeder advised me to sterilize Michel, because at the first heat had a uterine prolapse, he told me that because of that problem Michel would never be a good fatrice, Michel had six litters without any problem, but above all to excellent products such as Leonardo German champion VHR and international champion, Tobia German Champion VDH, Mascia champion of the German year and other remarkable subjects who on display always get the maximum of the qualification, not to mention that Leonardo has given me today Tina German champion V-37 and Denver champion young Bundessieger, do you think I should follow the advice of this pseudo breeder?
I am a very passionate and instinctive person, I am a lot bread bread wine to wine, unfortunately this way of being, frank and direct was mut and transformed into arrogance and presumption, I always tried to reason with my head, I never went behind the mass, even for the breeding choices, when everyone went to cover with the stallion of the moment, the multititled champion, I went to the unknown stallion but just for my female.
However, the decisive turning point took place in June 2000 when I went to Germany, with a female named Olimpia for a mont with a German stallion named Brisant, during this short stay I met Heike Lomp great boxer enthusiast, to whom I am very fond also because she is the owner of Leonardo Vom Pfauenthron ( father of Leonardo, Tobia and Mascia) stallion with which I covered, not one, but three times Michel. During one of our chattering of boxers, Heike confirms to me the intention of the German Boxer Klub, following a government law that prohibited the charges for aesthetic purposes, to modify the standard of the boxer providing only tail and ears intact, this confirmation and the vision of some integrity subjects lead me, to the decision not to amputate any more of the puppies that would be born from that time on.
This decision has led to the delirium in the Italian boxer environment, the break with the BCI was inevitable by now, I was tired of the accusations that moved against me, I felt no longer 'protected by this agency, but above all the really serious thing was the incorrect information that the club of race gave, regarding the change of standards and the psychological terrorism practiced against the other breeders, especially the young people generally favorable to the changes, with publications of photos of boxer integrity severely injured to the tail, accident however possible but in all races with tail integrates not only in the boxer.
When I started to raise whole, the big breeders pointed to me as the one who would ruin the race, well these gentlemen, if we want to define them, today they raise whole even someone, had gone beyond announcing, that in order not to adapt would stop raising or would change race, maybe it would be better so, because some people a boxer do not deserve it, the boxer goes beyond the outward appearance.
So I started to desert rallies and championships of the year in Italy, and I started to expose my subjects in Germany, collecting a great success, these disagreements and these differences of opinion with the BCI, have matured in me, the need to create another association for the protection of the breed boxer called "ITALIAN parcheggioER CLUB," of which I am proud president, in a few years even if we have not yet obtained the Enci recognition, we have worked a lot by winning consensus at national level but above all international, among our great successes we can boast of having obtained the pedigree for white boxers in the hope, in some way, to curb the barbaric and cruel paucity of suppressing these healthy and sweet puppies.

Kennel

4) What reproduction method does it use?

I think the instinct I mentioned earlier has greatly helped me, obviously uniting my reason and study of pedigree, but I have always tried to use stallions of my own production.
At the beginning, however, the inexperience led me to use multititled stallions, but over the years I began to change my thinking and trusted more than a beautiful unknown dog, this especially to avoid the use of dogs skillfully retouched, I refer to the musi siliconati and other cosmetic surgery, which unfortunately very often are practiced on dogs that absolutely have to make a career.
Today I choose only undamaged stallions because, for me, it became essential to see a well-tapped tail and intact ears of just size, as once it was to see a beautiful head or a beautiful dorsal.

5) What are the problems of this race?

I absolutely believe that the boxer is a healthy dog, the health examinations required by the race clubs are dysplasia of the hip, spondylarthritis and ecodoLmer, in my opinion these diseases have been exasperated, especially for an economic speech, subjecting to such examinations takes time but above all money, is a game expertly studied.
With this I do not mean that certain pathologies are not present in the race, but I still believe that a subject with dysplasia HD C can be an excellent player, and today unfortunately if the dysplasia is not HD A you already start to have doubts.

6) What is the ideal mass for a great "Boxer"?

Personally I prefer the big male, but not too heavy, and the female definitely feminine but not too light.

7) Is it possible to obtain subjects of great size and with excellent movement?

Surely, when a dog is well built, it will also have a good movement and I am also convinced that the dog's temperament affects negatively or positively its pace.
A large but well-angled and harmonic dog will definitely have a better movement than a smaller dog if not well-built and angled.

8) What importance does he attach to the head?

Of course, the particular head of the boxer is the card of this breed, but over the years I have learned to wade the boxer as a whole, I will soon pay close attention to the construction of the corners and the harmony of the boxer as a whole, a perfect head on a trunk not harmonious and well built are not enough to consider an excellent subject.

9) What are his present bloodlines?

In these years I have created my own blood line, which I know perfectly, just think that today in the house with me live three females, Dori, Michel and Mascia respectively grandmother, mother and daughter three generations, this helps me much for the matings.
I try to use my studs with every type of female, this allows me with the vision of the various litters, to be able to advise who should possibly require a mount with one of my studs.

10) What are the difficulties in raising this race?

I believe that the difficulties in raising are present in all races, however the only thing I feel to emphasize is that one never stops learning, and it is important not to feel ever arrived, always trying to absorb as much as possible from everyone, sometimes even the neophyte can be precious.

Font

11) Do you think the "Boxer" is an active subject in the function from the "Tourus"? or is it limited only to a simple bark?

The boxer is a balanced dog, sincere and loyal, excellent companion of games, however its happy and jovial character does not prevent him from becoming at the right time an excellent guardian for his family.

12) What is the relationship between dog and owner?

Without a doubt it is a relationship of love and absolute devotion, the boxer is a dog that constantly needs physical contact with its master, is not a dog suitable to live in canile, far from the family.

13) What problems does integration with the environment, people, traffic, etc. present?

None, the boxer is a very flexible dog and adaptable to any situation, the important thing is to provide a good socialization from a young age.

14) What kind of people ask for the "Boxer "?

The boxer is a very sociable dog and is always looking for contact with the owners with whom it builds a deep relationship. It is not absolutely aggressive towards the members of the family, respects them, shows affection towards everyone and does not try to impose itself. All this makes it an exceptional dog suitable for anyone.

15) How much space is needed for a subject of this mole?

Little, the boxer is a very clean and polite dog, so it can live in an apartment, even without garden, in this case it needs 'daily walks, also to give vent to its irrefrenatile liveliness.

16) How does he behave with his fellow humans?

Among other dogs, he knows how to be respected but he also knows how to live in harmony with all animals. If the situation appears to be unthreatened, the instinct to defend is set aside to leave room for the game. Much depends on the level of socialization of the dog and how it was grown.

17) How does he behave with children?

With children, as well as with puppies, it is an excellent babysitter: it becomes very tender and passively accepts even the stretches of orchids. If the situation gets exasperated, it leaves the field to take refuge in a quiet corner, avoiding any aggressive reaction.

Purchase

18) To what month does the puppy yield?

The puppies are sold not before the sixty days, that is after the first vaccines and the micro-chip of recognition. At the time of purchase I request the signature of a contract with which I commit to answer any problems of the puppy and the new owner undertakes to look after the puppy in the best way.

19) Does the puppy who sells, always make the new owner choose him or do you make a preselection?

The level of production of my kennel is quite homogeneous and those who come to kennel visit can see all the litters available. My invitation is to visit the website www.CASabaroleni.com where I publish all the puppies photos: everything in the light of the sun. It is the future owner who chooses but of course I am always very happy to provide my experience for accurate advice.

20) Is the prospective buyer always the right one to live with this race?

The boxer knows how to make himself loved and break into the heart of the new owner. I try to entrust my puppies to responsible people and that I am true to trust: it is my responsibility. I want to make sure that they grow up in healthy environments and I am always available with my advice.

Future

21) What is his ideal type of "Boxer " and how do you plan to get it?

It is difficult to talk about "boxer ideal" because every boxer in its own way knows how to be special. The standard is the reference and each breeder has his own reading. In the first place there are definitely the health and the character balance (that is the essence of the boxer). On the morphological level, one of my own is the frame of the robust that I drew from the Dutch and German blood lines. I try to merge the aesthetic canons of the Italian tradition with functional constructions. Today I am satisfied with the homogeneity of my production and the continuous recognitions stimulate me to continue on this path.

22) Do you work with other breeders for the selection of the type?

In the past I drew on the best Italian bloodlines but soon felt the need to find my way abroad. Today my name is very well known in Germany and Holland where I enjoy the esteem and collaboration of many breeders and trainers; in particular I have a relationship of deep friendship with the breeding "Balderbusse."
